We strive to facilitate timely access, responsible use and appropriate management of data obtained through RGE approval. We recognize that understanding the complexity of the available data, obtaining the necessary approvals for access and complying with the regulatory requirements for research can be challenging for investigators. We have experts who are available to assist you. Whether you are a novice or a frequent user, we encourage you to contact our experts for assistance.
Step by step instructions for investigators
RGE requires that your request for data be the minimum necessary to accomplish your research. You will need to provide adequate scientific justification for access to the data you request, particularly identifying data.
We encourage you to obtain de-identified data such as summary counts to determine the feasibility of your project, to include preliminary data in a grant application, and/or to prepare your application for RGE and the IRB.
Online query tools and reports:
If you need preliminary data from the Utah Population Database that are not available through the UPDB-L Query Tool, please submit a request to the RGE Director for a customized query using the RGE Preliminary Data Request Form. For a customized query from the Utah Cancer Registry, please send an email to UCR
